Endovenous Laser Therapy (EVLT)

EVLT is an acronym for Endovenous Laser Therapy. EVLT is an in-office procedure that uses targeted laser energy to seal faulty vein shut. This is an excellent alternative to surgical stripping however, only certain veins are amenable to this form of treatment.
This treatment only takes 1 hour and you get immediate relief of symptoms. You can resume normal activiey immediately with little to no pain. There is no anesthesia or hospitalization and minimal scarring.
Our ultrasound tech will map out your vein and local anesthesia will be applied. A thin laser fiber is inserted into the through a tiny entry point, usually near the knee. Laser energy is delivered to seal the faulty vein. Walking immediately after the procedure is encouraged. Normal daily activities can be resumed (avoiding rigorous activities). There may be minor soreness and bruising. EVLT published clinical studies showing a 98% initial success rate with excellent long-term results.
